Wounded Warriors
Taking care of wounded warriors is an important part of the Army's mission. Wounded Soldiers are eligible for a wide array of benefits in order to help them recover physically, prepare financially and build their skills for a rewarding career.
On 18 March 2010, the Under Secretary of Defense Intelligence, issued guidance to support the DoD Operation Warfighter program. Wounded warriors are an invaluable resource for civil and industry service. The DoD Operation Warfighter program and other similar programs supports our wounded soldiers by providing temporary assignment/internship programs while convalescing at military treatment facilities throughout the U.S. Many of the internship positions require security or intelligence related skills as well as high level security clearances.
Issuing security clearances, to the selected wounded warriors in a timely manner is vital to the DoD Operation Warfighter mission. Soldiers have given so much, and the Army is committed to ensuring that the unique population of wounded warriors and their families are given the best possible care and successfully return to duty or transition to civilian life.
