Mission
HQDA G-2 Industrial Security is responsible for
providing policy, practices and procedures for
the Department of the Army Industrial Security
Program and proper safeguarding procedures for
Army information released to industry.
Functions
HQDA, G-2, Industrial Security Program is the
focal point within the Department of the Army
for administering policy and responsibilities to
the Army Commands (ACOM), Army Service Component
Commands (ASCC), Direct Reporting Units (DRU),
US Army Reserves, Army National Guard, Program
Executive Offices (PEO), direct reporting
Program Managers (PM), contract employees and
contract companies under contract to the Army
authorized to receive, store, process and use
classified information.
The HQDA, G-2 Industrial Security Specialists
are members of the National Industrial Security
Program Policy Advisory Committee (NISPPAC) and
Government Industrial Security Working Group
(GISWG). The NISPPAC is chaired by the
Information Security Oversight Office (ISOO) and
consists of committee members from DoD, non-DoD
Agencies and 7 appointed members from Industry
who represent industry collectively. The NISPPAC
is responsible for recommending modifications,
improvements and alterations to industrial
security policy through NISP revisions,
implementing directives, and DoD 5220.22-R,
“Industrial Security Regulation”. The NISPPAC
advises ISOO on all matters concerning NISP
policies and serves as a forum to discuss policy
issues in dispute. The GISWG is chaired by the
Defense Security Services and is a forum for
sharing information between DSS, Government
Agencies and U.S. Industry. The focus of the
meetings is designed to discuss policy and
procedures for the NISP.
