Guidance
The Army fully supports the USD(I) initiative to ensure Wounded Warriors are
postured for continued employment, as outlined in the attached memorandum.
Accordingly, the following guidance is provided.
Effective immediately, AR 380-67, Section VII, para 3-700, sub para D is amended
to read:
Reinvestigation will not be requested if the subject is within 12 months of
retirement, EXCEPT for Soldiers pending a Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) and/or
a Physical Evaluation Board (PEB), this includes Wounded Warriors.
Wounded Warriors who receive conditional offers of employment with any DoD
entity, DoD Contractor, or other Federal Government Position will be processed
for the requisite security clearance, as an expedited service. In the event the
perspective employer is an outside agency who requires that the investigation be
submitted through their investigative service provider, every effort will be
made to facilitate this process to ensure minimal impact to the Wounded Warrior.
This correspondence is considered interim policy, and as such effective
immediately. This change will be incorporated into AR 380-67, in the forthcoming
update.
